Curtis B. Pursell was appointed Clerk of Court for the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal in 2019, filling the position after service as an attorney in the General Counsel's Office of the Louisiana Supreme Court, as a research attorney for the Honorable Chief Judge Susan M. Chehardy, and as an attorney in the Central Staff division of the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal.

A native New Orleanian, Curtis is a graduate of Jesuit High School, New York University, and Tulane University Law School. He resides in New Orleans with his wife Aimee.
